Do I have to be Lutheran to attend Emmanuel?

In short, no. While Emmanuel is part of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, we are open to all people seeking to grow in their personal relationship with Jesus. Being Lutheran isn't nearly as important as having a heart to seek Christ. If you want to learn more about Lutheran doctrine, we have a class just for this, but it's certainly not a requirement to attend.

Will I have to sign anything to stand up in front of people in I come for the first time?

No. Please visit, relax, enjoy, mingle, and get a feel of what this community is like. Ushers, elders, and members will be available to help you. You are invited to join us for fellowship between the services for a time to visit. We want your visit to be warm, inviting, comfortable and above all, an opportunity for you to explore.

What do I wear?

We don't have a dress code and we certainly wouldn’t want you to worry about this! Wear whatever is comfortable and appropriate. Some people wear shorts and an aloha shirt, while others come in “business casual” attire. We are more concerned about your heart and your needs than we are about your clothing.

Can I recieve communion at Emmanuel?

Emmanuel celebrates the Lord's Supper every week. The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod believes the Biblical teaching that in communion we receive the body and blood of Jesus Christ in/with/under the bread and wine for the forgiveness of sins. If you are a baptized Christian who has been instructed in the biblical teaching of communion, and if you agree with our confession of faith, please feel free to commune with us. If you have any questions please visit with the Pastor either prior to worship or by making an appointment.

What are the differences between the 2 services?

Sundays at 8:00 a.m. we offer a contemporary service featuring praise songs and a band. Our 10:45 a.m. service is traditional worship using the Lutheran Service Book liturgy and hymns.

Are you going to ask me for money?

Absolutely not! We do pass an offering plate during our worship services.  However, when the offering plate is passed around, we do not expect you to participate in giving any monetary gift to our church. We would love it if you filled out our fellowship book located at the back of the church.
