Youth Confirmation Class
Youth Confirmation class is available for all youth from 5th-8th grade, and meets weekly after school on Thursdays. Youth study the 6 chief parts of the Christian faith (the 10 Commandments, the Creed, the Lord's Prayer, Baptism, Confession, and the Lord's Supper) from Luther's Small Catechism, in addition to an overview of the Bible. The class prepares youth for their public confession of the faith into which they have been baptized and begins participation in the Lord's Supper.
Adult Instruction Class
Adults interested in becoming baptized Christians and participating in the Lord's Supper as a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church are invited to contact Pastor Hosch about the "Christianity 101" course. If you are not baptized, and want to learn about the Christian faith; or if you previously belonged to another Christian denomination and would like to become a communing member of our church; or even are a church member desiring to "refresh" your knowledge of your faith, this course is for you! Please see Pastor about when the next class will be offered.
Infants and Children
God welcomes people of all ages into His family, and desires that we all become His children through Holy Baptism. Our church follows the historic Christian practice of receiving infants and young children into God's family through the waters of baptism, in recognition of Jesus' call "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God" (Mark 10:14). This is done with the understanding that they will continue to be instructed in the Christian faith as they grow older, fulfilling Christ's command that we go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them and teaching them everything Christ commanded (Matthew 28:19-20). If you have any question or would like to set-up a baptism please reach out to Pastor Hosch.
