Aloha!

One of the primary ways our congregation serves the community of Maui beyond our weekly worship and Bible study, is the operation of our Christian preschool and elementary school programs.

These both extend our mission to provide a high-quality Christ-centered education to a growing body of students throughout the week.

Our School Website is: www.els-maui.org

I invite you to explore our developing website and find out more about our church and school, and God-willing,  join us in following Jesus, our Risen Savior!

Mahalo,

Pastor Joshua Schneider

Joshua Schneider is the current Senior Pastor of Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Maui. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree (2002) in Biology from Concordia University Chicago in River Forest, Illinois, and a Master of Divinity Degree (2006) from Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He began his ministry in July 2006, as an associate pastor, during which time he served as 6th-8th grade teacher in the subjects of science and faith at Emmanuel Lutheran School. Following the retirement of Pastor Milton Fricke (who served 40 years with the congregation, but is still actively a part of our church), Pastor Schneider became the congregation’s next Senior Pastor. He serves on the Board of the Malama Pregnancy Center, a local non-profit, as well as serving as a Chaplain in the Hawaii Army National Guard (HIARNG), since 2018. He was deployed to Afghanistan with the HIARNG during 2019-2020 and has since returned to serving at Emmanuel.
Joshua enjoys hiking, snorkeling, camping, and enjoying the outdoors on the island of Maui with his wife and three children. He is an active reader and learner.
